Marilyn Becker has lived in Chalfont for the last 32 years, raising two children and now retired from schoolteaching.  For over 20 years, she has been working for the residents of Chalfont through her volunteer service in local government.  She strongly supports the Route 202 Bypass project.

Borough Council

Joseph C. Atkinson, Council President

Joe has lived in Chalfont for over four years with his wife Laura, his son Sean (6), and daughter Casey (4).  He was elected President of Borough Council in January of 1998.  Joe is a Manager with Coopers & Lybrand's Computer Assurance Services group in Philadelphia, is a Certified Internal Auditor and a Certified Information Systems Auditor.  Joe implemented our Web page as well as updates to the Borough's systems.

Stephen E. Moore, Council Vice-President

Steve has served as the Council's Vice President since 1997, and is Chair of the Borough's Property Committee overseeing the design and construction of the recent addition to our historic Borough Hall.  He also serves on the Police Committee.  Steve is a former Philadelphia Police Officer and now a Partner in a Philadelphia law firm.

Robert Cleland, Councilman

Rob currently chairs the Borough's Parks Committee, and has been working on the Chestnut Street Park Project, upgrading one of the Borough's largest and most important park sites.  Rob's Parks Committee also plans the Borough's Annual Chalfont Day Celebration.

Patricia Hopkins, Councilwoman

Pat is a past president of the Chalfont Borough Council, and has served Borough residents for over 20 years.  She currently serves on the Borough's Property and Police Committees, the Emergency Management Committee, and assists in the planning of the Borough's Annual Chalfont Day Celebration.

Marilyn Jacobson, Councilwoman

Marilyn has been a resident of Chalfont since 1980.  She was appointed to Council in August 1997, and re-elected to her new term in January 1998.  She is serving on the Streets Committee and chairs the Borough's Steering Committee, which is currently looking at Open Space Planning as well as the Borough's Personnel Policy.

Robert "Boe" Shiffler, Councilman

Boe lives in the Borough with his wife Danielle, and serves the Borough as Chair of the Water Department.  He also serves on the Council's Property Committee.  Boe has been active in the Bucks Area Youth Support & Entertainment Council (BAYSEC) since beginning his term on Council in January of 1998.

George S. Wozar, Councilman

Mr. Wozar has been serving the residents of Chalfont for 21 years.  He is President of the Bucks County Boroughs Association and has received the Thomas F. Chrostwaite Award from the PA State Association of Boroughs.  Currently, he is working to become a Certified Borough Official.  Mr. Wozar is a Life Member of the Chalfont Fire Company, and a Certified Soccer Official for PIAA.  He is employed as a Speech and Language Consultant of the Bucks County Intermediate Unit.
